Happy Saturday ,
What if there was a simple way to refresh your health, clear
your mind, and strengthen your connection with God?
Good news—there is! Fasting. Now, wait—before you close the door on this idea, hear me out. Fasting is packed with amazing benefits, and here’s the thing: Jesus fasted. If He did it, isn’t it worth considering?
Throughout scripture, fasting isn’t a rigid rule; it’s a powerful practice. Jesus fasted (Matthew 4:2), and He taught His disciples that some breakthroughs only happen “by prayer and fasting” (Mark
9:29).
Fasting lets us step away from interference, refocus on God, and find new strength and clarity. It is a reset button—every hunger pang reminds us to lean on Him, pray, and renew our focus on what matters.
Why Fast?
Spiritually, fasting is amazing. It opens us to God’s guidance and
brings clarity, peace, and strength. You can fast for one meal as I teach in the 40 Day Transformation course. Another option is a broth or water fast, or try the Daniel Fast. Some people choose to fast from distractions or social media. The key?
Bringing your focus to God.
Here’s how fasting can enrich us spiritually: (see the longer list in the Nutrition Manual)
- Tune into God’s voice and get clear direction.
- Break free from burdens and challenges.
- Strengthen your resolve to resist temptation.
- Find answers to life’s questions.
- Feel closer to God and sense His guidance and
peace.
Oh, and There’s More—The Physical Benefits Are Real, Too!
Fasting gives your body the reset it needs, helping with clarity, energy, and overall health.
Here are physical perks you might notice:
- Detoxifies and cleanses your system.
- Gives your digestive system a break.
- Boosts immunity.
- Sharpens mental clarity.
- Supports reducing cravings and not let any food be an addiction.
For me, starting with the Daniel Fast was a game-changer. After struggling with my health and weight, fasting—along with a few other biblical health steps—helped me turn the corner to better living. I felt more energy, strength, and connection with God than ever before. It can be the smallest step of faith makes the biggest impact!
