Good Morning family,
It’s Friday Faves, and we’re about to take your cleaning game to the next level—without all the toxins!
When I worked in the ER at MO Bap
Hospital, babies and young children would come in during the night hours with rashes and trouble breathing. Almost always, this was caused by the pajamas and bedding that was recently washed in toxic cleaning products. We used to call it the Bounce Rash.
In the Treasures Bible Study classes, I used to share how Dreft is very toxic, and J & J's Baby Shampoo has a numbing agent so babies don't hurt when it gets in their eyes. It was NOT because it did not harm!
Doesn't that make you mad! As parents and grandparents, we want to protect the next generation from exposure to harmful chemicals. Our homes should be a place of peace and safety, not danger.
The good news...you already have the most natural, non toxic of cleaners in your home, and they work.
This includes baking soda, vinegar and hydrogen peroxide. These are a preppers must! See the recipes below.
But, I like products that don't require me to pull out a cheat sheet to find the mixes and uses. Therefore, I am spoiled by convenience.
That is why I use pre-made or easy mix products. If that sounds like you, but you don't want to spend more than necessary, then we think alike!
This is why Branch Basics is my choice! *(See bottom for discount code!)
Did you know most
household cleaners are loaded with chemicals that harm your health? Yikes!
Why Make the Switch?
Here’s how toxic cleaners affect your health:
1️⃣ Respiratory Issues
Ever notice breathing problems after cleaning? That’s because traditional cleaners can release fumes that mess with your lungs,
triggering asthma, allergies, or other breathing problems.
2️⃣ Hormonal Disruptions
Some chemicals in cleaners, like phthalates, mess with your body’s hormones. This can mess with everything from mood to fertility. Not fun, right?
3️⃣ Skin Irritations & Allergies
Harsh chemicals can cause your skin to break out or become itchy—especially if you’ve got sensitive skin. Your kids and pets are even more vulnerable to this stuff!
4️⃣ Brain Fog & Headaches
Ever get a headache or feel dizzy after cleaning? That’s your body telling you those chemicals are messing with your brain and nervous system. No thanks!
5️⃣ Cancer Risk
Some cleaning products contain chemicals linked to cancer, especially with long-term exposure. It's a scary thought, but it’s avoidable.
6️⃣ Weak Immune
System
Continuous exposure to toxic chemicals can wear down your immune system, leaving you more vulnerable to colds, flu, and other illnesses.
7️⃣ Eye & Throat Irritation
Ever spray a cleaner and feel
your throat burn or eyes sting? That’s a sign you shouldn’t be inhaling or getting that stuff on your skin!
Switching to non-toxic cleaners means keeping your body safe and feeling good—inside and out....Time to breathe easy!
Branch Basics is my favorite with non-toxic, plant-based formulas that clean like a champ.
All Branch Basics cleaning products are human and pet safe, made from plant and mineral-based ingredients, fragrance-free, and biodegradable.
Scripture to reflect on: "But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." – Joshua 24:15
This verse is a reminder that our homes are sacred spaces. Choosing clean, safe products is just another way of honoring our bodies, and our families.

DIY Cheat Sheet Mixes For Baking Soda, Vinegar and Hydrogen Peroxide:
- For a kitchen sink or tub scrub: Mix 1/2 cup of baking soda with a few tablespoons of vinegar and scrub away! 💪
- For a
natural deodorizer: Put 1 cup of vinegar in a bowl and leave it in a stinky room to neutralize odors. (Seriously, it works like magic!)
- For disinfecting surfaces: Spray 3% hydrogen peroxide directly onto kitchen counters, cutting boards, or bathroom surfaces, let it sit for 5–10 minutes, then wipe away for a clean, germ-free space. 🧼
- This list can go on and on.....
A few simple swaps, and your home is on its way to being toxin-free, clean, and fresh!
Blessings,
